The village of Miʿilyā contains antiquities from the Pre Pottery Neolithic B (PPNB) until our present days. Many excavations and surveys were carried out in many parts of the village of Miʿilyā, revealing great deal of information about the village and the region in the last 9000 years. However, the focus of our research is on the Frankish and Mamluk periods when the settlement served as an administrative centre of large parts of Galilee. The project is headed by Dr. Rabei Khamisy.
