Tarphile of the Franks, or Khirbat al-Manḥata as known in Arabic, was a Frankish village built on Byzantine settlement. The surveys and excavations carried out at the site present activities from the Byzantine, Frankish and Mamlūk periods. In 2016 a Massive Frankish building was excavated, and in 2023, a Byzantine winepress and a quarry dating to the Frankish period that was later used in the Mamlūk period were excavated. The project is headed by Dr. Rabei Khamisy.
